Jackson’s MMA series II in NM results – WEC vet Coty Wheeler TKOs Ray Robinson in main event
Albuquerque native Coty Wheeler (13-3) returned to the local scene as the headliner for Jackson's MMA series II at the Hard Rock Casino. The event was part of a newly founded mixed martial arts promotions from Jackson's MMA, one of the most successful fights teams in the United States.
Wheeler was matched up with Arizona based fighter Ray Robinson (6-9) in a three round bantamweight affair. Robinson jumped out to an early lead and even floored Wheeler with punches.
X-1 Heroes features Falaniko Vitale vs. Kala Hose & semifinals of 205 lb tourney
X-1 Heroes returns to the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena with a card featuring some of the top local talent on the island of Hawaii. In the main event two Hawaiian mixed martial arts legends do battle for the first time when Falaniko Vitale (27-9) takes on Kala Hose (7-3). Vitale bounced back from a two year layoff with a first round choke out of Kalib Starnes back in March.
Hose has not been active since an April 2009 loss to Jason Miller.
The second round of X-1's light heavyweight tournament will also take place as all four fighters who won in round one will compete in the semifinals. Local Po'ai Suganuma (10-3) remains the favorite while Cesar Gracie trained Roy Boughton (4-0) is the fastest rising prospect left in the field.
Ring of Fire 39 in CO results – Eliot Marshall & Brandon Thatch nab victories
The progression of welterweight Brandon Thatch (5-1) continued in the co-main event of Ring of Fire 39 at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver. A five time ROF veteran Thatch was matched up with Las Vegas fighter Danny Davis (5-2-1).
Thatch's superior ground control became the plot of the one round fight. After an initial takedown Davis worked his way back to his feet. Thatch was than the one put on his back from a single leg attempt by Davis. With Thatch reversing the position Davis ate a harsh elbow from the bottom.
Salt Lake City's Josh Burkman (20-8) will return to the cage once again for Utah based Showdown fight promotions. In a catch-weight fight at 180 pounds Burkman will do battle with middleweight prospect Jordan Smith (14-0-1) of Kaysville.
Both fighters have ties to the UFC's Ultimate Fighter reality show. Burkman appeared on Season two, before he left the show after a broken arm in a victory over Melvin Guillard (24-8-2). Smith's time in front of the camera for season 11 was brief as he suffered a KO defeat to Brad Tavares (6-0) in the show's preliminary stages.

Top Colorado promotion Ring of Fire returns to the Fillmore Auditorium with a card topped by a battle between former Ultimate Fighter reality show cast-members, as Eliot Marshall (7-2) takes on Josh Haynes (12-9).
The top prospect to watch on the card is slotted in the co-main event. 25 year old Brandon Thatch (4-1) steps in the cage versus Danny Davis (5-1). A 6'2 welterweight Thatch is a up and comer with a knack for highlight reel finishes; all four of Thatch's victories have come via (T) KO or submission

ULTMMA50 film study, examining the top 50 unsigned prospects in mixed martial arts, continues with 23 year old featherweight Isaac De Jesus (10-2) squaring off with possible Ultimate Fighter season 12 competitor Nam Phan (16-7). De Jesus is ranked number 37 in the ULTMMA50; a listing of the top 50 unsigned prospects in MMA.

Tachi Palace Fights signs world number one 125 pound fighter Jussier da Silva
Undefeated Flyweight fighter Jussier da Silva (7-0) is making the trek up north for the first time in his career. California's Tachi Palace Fights promotion today announced the signing of Da Silva, who is widely regarded as the top mixed martial artist at 125 pounds.
Da Silva will his make his United States and TPF debut at Tachi Palace Fights 7 to be held at the Palace casino in Lemoore, CA on Thursday December 2nd.
Competing mostly in his home country of Brazil during his five year pro career, Da Silva last saw action in June 2010 where he downed top ten ranked Alexandre Pantoja (7-2) in a three round decision.

Fight for Wrestling in CA results – CSUB coach Brian Cobb chokes out Jon Carson
Southern California's Fight for Wrestling promotion returned for its second event and this time they threw their support behind the California State University at Bakersfield (CSUB) wrestling program. With proceeds benefiting the CSUB wrestling program, a catch-weight bout at 160 pounds between one time UFC competitor Brian Cobb (16-6) and prospect Jon Carson (8-3) headlined a 10 fight pro card.
A Bakersfield native Cobb wasted little time defending his home turf versus Carson. In the brief grappling battle Cobb caught Carson's back and locked in a rare standing rear naked choke finish. The official time came 70 seconds after the opening bell.
