WEC division rankings - post WEC 47

A new champion was crowned at WEC 47 in Columbus, Ohio as challenger Dominick Cruz (15-1) handed bantamweight champion Brian Bowles (8-1) the first loss of his career. Cruz not only earned the WEC belt but assumes the crown as top 135 pound fighter in the world with the win.
Taking a look at the WEC divisions following WEC 47, the next challenger to Cruz's belt could be a number of different contenders.

Joseph Benavidez (12-1), who previously dropped at decision to Cruz at WEC 42, has gone from 25 year old prospect to top flight bantamweight challenger in less than 12 months. Benavidez continues to improve his game and looked overpowering in his submission victory over former 135 pound kingpin Miguel Torres (37-3).

Not to be out done former Pac 10 champion wrestler Scott Jorgenson (9-3) put away Chad George (11-5) in 31 seconds via guillotine choke. Jorgenson has now won three consecutive fights since dropping a controversial split decision to Antonio Banuelos (17-5) in June 2009.

Florida’s AFL results: Dhafir “Da Da 5000” Harris wins in controversial fashion & Aguilar subs Coolbaugh

Hollywood, FL-The professional MMA debut of local Florida brawler Da Da 5000 AKA Dhafir Harris (1-0) netted mixed results at Action Fight League's Rumble at the Rock event. Harris fighting at heavyweight took to the cage versus Cedric James (0-2) in a contest billed as a super-fight.

Attaining internet stardom on YouTube, the 32 year old Harris had taken the baton left behind by ex-street fighter turned MMA fighter Kimbo Slice in South Florida. In less than three minutes of in cage action Harris showed off his wild punching style against James, but it was the unheralded man in the cage who took control of the fight.

XFL full results & Jake Rosholt submission of Rudy Lindsey fight video

Tulsa, OK-One of the most active states in MMA put together a hybrid card featuring both professional MMA and kickboxing bouts at XFL March Badness in Oklahoma. The return of ex Oklahoma State wrestler and UFC fighter Jake Rosholt shared the bill with two title fights on the night's marquee.

21 year old middleweight prospect Trey Houston (3-0) downed Brandon Gaines (5-11) for the second time in as many fights. The play by play was eerily similar to that of their first meeting at Strikeforce Challengers in September 2009. Houston again pulled off a fight ending submission two minutes into the second period, this time by armbar at the 2:07 mark, with the first meeting halted after an arm-triangle choke.
